Dr. Joseph Plasner, Ph.D. is a licensed/School psychologist who has worked with children and families for over 30 years. His background includes experience as a special educator, school psychologist, therapist/team member working with adolescents and families in a clinical environment, and private practitioner. Dr. Plasner has devoted his entire practice and professional life to working with children and providing parents with guidance and training. In providing these services, Dr. Plasner utilizes aspects of Cognitive, Behavioral, and Psychodynamic approaches within the Adlerian model as he works with children and their parents to treat childhood disorders including ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Mood Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, Parent-child difficulties, and social dysfunctioning. In addition, when indicated, Dr. Plasner is able to utilize EEG biofeedback/neurofeedback as a technique to augment his psychotherapeutic interventions to facilitate recovery.
State Approved Independent Child Study Team
Balaban and Associates, LLC is also proud of our commitment to provide services to New Jersey public and private schools as an independent child study team for over 20 years. As a child study team, we offer comprehensive and fully independent evaluations in all disciplines as well as related services in counseling and speech-language therapy. We pride ourselves in having been able to provide second opinions regarding classification decisions, recommendations for services, and the implementation of programs that have been crucial in meeting the needs of special education students in New Jersey. Our reputation in this area is outstanding and a source of fulfillment of our vision as child advocates.
